;D we all have such good taste in music ;D it's hard to post the stuff i like after that! Stuff I love: Tori Amos Charlotte Martin Xaiver Naidoo Natalie Merchant Jewel (older stuff) Ben Folds REM Elton John Jorane Current living touring classical muscians: Mikhail Pletnev (amazing classical pianist) Hilary Hahn (violinist) Richard Goode (amazing classical pianist) Kathleen Battle (vocals) Jon Kimura Parker (pianist) Dawn Upshaw (vocals) Itzhak Perlam (violinist) Jamie Laredo (conductor) and I have a real soft spot for Gerard Schwarz, conductor of the Seattle Symphony, since it was in Seattle that I fell in love with classical music, and I've been to see the Seattle Symphony many times.

[shadow=red,left,300]The new releases are like $30+ Double CD's are like $40+ Imported CD's (like Ani D's) are like $50+
Unless you just buy old CD's (not second hand just old) then they're not that bad[/shadow]

year27 is actually my friends band (year27.com <--shameless plug lol) Joydrop are Canadian, not overly well-known but are awesome. the singer grew up in Halifax, which is only 4 hours from where i live their last single out was Sometimes Wanna Die. the new one is American Dreamgirl. A Perfect Circle is the side-project of Tool's singer, Maynard. they have a new single out called Weak and Powerless. and there might be a thread about them on the Char boards. Amelia Curran is another local-ish singer. she's kinda folky and she's cool as hell. i've seen her a few times and talked to her each time. i'll try and dig up a website for you. Dar Williams is an incredibly talented folk singer/songwriter and i highly reccomend listening to her song "Are You Out There". it got me hooked on her.
